Reader Appreciation Give Away

Time to reveal what I was up to in THAT post.  I am 1 away from 100 followers so it's time for a give-away to show my appreciation to all of you who read my blog, take time to leave your comments and stick with me through my ramblings.  You make my life richer!
I put together this selection of buttons hand-picked from my personal collection.  I have included buttons from every category I sort; MOP, wood, glass, metal, leather, vintage plastic, vegetable ivory, celluloid tight-top, bone, china, glass and plastic rhinestones and fabric.  There are 70 buttons in all.  I altered an Altoid tin to store them in, although it's a pretty tight fit and barely closes.

So what do you need to do to win this sweet little tin of buttons?  Well this give-away is a little different.  You don't need to blog about me, although I would love it if you did, you don't need to sign up to follow me, although I would love it if you do. All you need to do is leave a comment and a guess.
You're going to want to take a look back at THIS post where I was showing you that big jar of plastic buttons that sits on my workbench.  Yes, I counted them!
All you have to do is guess the number of buttons in the jar.  It measures 7" wide and 7" tall (not counting the pedestal.  Full disclosure: I removed 43 buttons as I was arranging them for the picture so there are 43 more in the jar than the pictures.  You are guessing the number in the jar.
Enter as many times as you like.  I don't know how many comments would make Blogger blow up and I would rather not be responsible for finding out so please don't leave 10,000 guesses each - LOL!  The comment that comes the closest to the exact number wins.  In the case of a tie, the comment that was left first win.
I will announce the winner on Monday, April 30th.  Have fun and good luck!!

Oops, Sorry Carol!

I made one of my photo Altoids tins and a card for my sweet friend, Carol, and gave it to her last week.  Her real birthday was Sunday and I forgot to post this.  Happy Birthday, Carol, I love you!
She loves everything poodle so I searched the Internet for a vintage poodle photo that "whispered" a caption to me.  That is how I make my photo mint tins.  The original photo was so sweet that I made it into a card.
You might also notice I made an alternate background to use when I take pictures on top of my workbench.  I love the one covered with the bright yellow wallpaper but sometimes it is a little too busy.  This one is covered with dictionary pages and I have Carol to thank.  My little background screens are made from scrabble boards.  I only had one complete one and needed two.  She needed more "B" scrabble tiles for her project.  A perfect trade with a perfect friend!

Sneak Peek At The Button Floozies Swap

I finished up my altered Altoids tin and selected my buttons for the swap Laurie is hosting over at Button Floozies.  Click the link or the one over on my sidebar.  There is still time to enter!
This is an Autumn-inspired swap so I decorated my tin with fall leaves.  I drilled a hole in the center of the top and inserted the button shank so I could attach it with a button cotter pin without damaging it.  The huge button reminds me of a sunflower or black-eyed Susan.  I won't spill out the buttons so I can preserve the mystery in case my swap partner turns out to be someone who follows my blog.  Join in the fun and it might just be you!
