Odds and Ends

There was no time for estate sales today so I took a swing by Nina and Joe's Division Street Antiques for a little fix on my way home from the office.  It was a quick stop but I found a few treasures.
More rose postcards for my collection.  I needed more wooden spools like a hole in the head but this bag contained a lot of tiny ones so I couldn't pass it up.
A deck of cards featuring famous authors.
A new birdie for my collection and a great old black and white photo.  Be sure to click this one bigger.  I love that attitude!
Does anyone know what card game this is?
Since I added some new rose postcards to my collection for the lace book, I decided to show the others.  Four of them were bought on my recent trip to the coast and I failed to spread them out so you could see them in that picture.
I hope you are all finding some good junk in your weekend!

Hi Kathy, you sure found some great finds on your stop. Love those playing cards but have no idea what game that would be.
Your rose postcards are gorgeous.
The little boy pic looks too cute with his smile. Darling bird for your collection. Spools are always a great find no matter how many your have.
Thanks for sharing. Those postcards are going to be awesome in your linen and lace pages.
Have a great week.
hugs

I love all your pretty postcards. That old black and white of the little boy is so precious. Wonder what the photographer said to him to get that expression.

Great finds Kathy! Love the old postcards and wooden spools. It's getting harder and harder to find those spools. I have never seen that card game; but what a neat deck!

Hi Kathy, I like how you call it a fix - is sure is for me too! I wanted to let you know I used the denture tablets to clean little doll furniture and it did a great job. When I saw my mom who has dentures she gave me a big pack of them - haha. Someday I'll clean my buttons with it. Also, seeing your cards here reminded me to ask you about swap cards. I picked up some the other day. They are the size of cards in a deck but they are blank on the back. Have you heard of them?

The card game is Authors. I think I'll dig my game out -- I can't remember the rules. Probably like rummy.
Your flowers are gorgeous. Tulips are about to pop and the birds are loving the blooming pear tree. Hope they eat all the bugs!
