Time For One

 I had time for just one quick junking stop this weekend.  The VOA didn't fail me.  I didn't get a lot but what I got was good.  Two boxes of BIG pink ornaments.  They are 3-1/2" diameter.  The box on top is all Shiny Brite.  The box below is also filled with big pink ornaments but they are a mix of Shiny Brite, West Germany and one that just says Made In USA.  I love pink ornaments but these are a little big for my tree so they are already listed over in my Etsy.

 These three will be added to my tree this year.  One Shiny Brite, one Poland and one USA.

 Plus THIS pretty girl. A beautiful vintage dressing jacket. I love the lace detail and the pale blue ribbon on the front.  It has a tag that says By Iris so I don't think it is handmade but I do think it is vintage.  I love things like this.  It reminds of Magnolia Pearl or Free People. This will be headed to my Etsy, too.

Speaking of Etsy, if you are looking for Christmas gifts for those oh-so-hard-to-buy-for guys, The Husband has finished moving all of his roller-ball pens from his website to his Etsy shop.  The ones in this picture are not for sale, they are mine, but he has a huge selection of colors and styles to choose from.  He also makes pepper and salt grinders, bottle openers, game calls and a whole lot more.  It's not too late to Christmas shop!

Crafty Wonderland and Sparkly Pink Goodness From Ethel

 I went to Crafty Wonderland yesterday.  This was my first time and it was AMAZING!  If you are in the Portland area I highly recommend it.  This show is what America's Largest Christmas Bazaar was "back in the day", before it crossed over to the dark side.  There were over 250 artists and craftspeople selling a huge variety of goods.  I was looking forward to seeing Magpie Ethel's booth because we have become blog friends but I haven't seen her in action.  Oh.My.Gosh.  All I had to do was look for the sparkle!  It was so crammed with people I could barely wiggle my way in to shop.  I was able to get three of her stemmed reflector flowers that will be part of a Christmas gift for another friend and the reflector clip above for my little pink tree.

 She gifted me with a pretty little box containing three new additions for my pink tree. 

All three are vintage, which is exactly perfect.  A little pink pine cone and even an indent. Happy, happy, happy!!

A Work In Progress

 I promised to show the "project" I picked up when I was out thrifting last Friday.  Well, last year I discovered the joy of vintage Christmas ornaments and began collecting them as you might recall from this post.  The pink ones got me jonesing for a pink tree on the table in the art room.

 I have been on the lookout for a sparse feather or tinsel-style tree.  No luck so far, at least not at a price I was willing to pay.  I spotted this new-in-the-box silver  Christmas card holder at the VOA and the muse snatched it up.  I covered it with vintage pink tinsel garland I found on this trip. 

 My MIL has been here for Thanksgiving week and she spotted a white pearl pendant I could use to dress up the star so it stood out more.  I covered it with pink Martha glitter and tied with sliver ribbon.

 I didn't have nearly enough pink ornaments to get started so we made a trip to the Montecello Antique Mall on Saturday.  There were WAY more than this newbie-collector was willing to spend in one trip but I got enough to have a good start on my "vision". 

I even got a couple marked Poland that sweet Barbara at Oodles and Oodles was kind enough to educate me about.
I plan to bend the card holder rings in and out so I can create layers.  It's a start and there is room for a LOT more ornaments, which is just fine by me. 8+)
