Elf-A-Paluza!

If you follow me on Instagram then you have already seen this heap.  Sunday was Elf-A-Paluza!  I lost count at 60 and all are vintage marked Japan.  A village of little faces to wash and clothes to brush off! I also found a couple of Gurley choir boys and a pretty tray.
This West German Inge-Glas Santa ornament is in the original box.
And then there was this...  Click it bigger and you will see there are some heart-breaks in this box but also a load of fun old ornaments.
It was a very good day in junk land!

Good Junk

These finds are from LAST weekend and I nearly forgot to post the photos. Most of this is from an unexpected detour to an estate sale. It was on my way to an errand and the car just turned.  What can I say.
I adore the two old pictures.  The one on the right is partially covered but it says God Bless Our Home on the bottom.  The sheer pink thing is a vintage hostess apron.
This was folded and I thought it was a pillowcase.  When I got it home I discovered it is an embroidered crib sheet.  An unusual find and I was delighted.
Christmas kitch and two McCoy planters.
Millinery cherries and a fun old pewter sugar bowl.
This depiction of pioneer Papa reading to his children is just a delight!

Flat Lays

I decided to try those flat lay photos that are all the rage lately.  I'm not too thrilled with my results but had to give it a try with a few recent finds.
Maybe my one and only attempt since I'm not too motivated by photography. Anyone who is doing it have any advice?? Tell me there is an easy way....  8+)

Friday Finds

Another week has whizzed by, as Summer does!  We had rain in the forecast yesterday and cooler temps but the rain didn't amount to much.  Hard to believe an Oregonian is wishing for more rain - LOL!
I adore old books and these two caught my eye. No spells in the Magic book, just tricks.
Sweet Made in Japan sewing box and two tatted circles for trimming pillow cases.  I think the birdie note holder might have to stay with me for a while.
Jello molds and tart tins.  I never find those old Easter eggs with both halves but still can't resist the graphics.  Anyone have any ideas on how to use them??
The berry boxes are filled with very old chenille chicks and bunnies.  I don't know if they can be rescued but figured I would bring them home and give them a closer look.
Happy Saturday!

My Happy Place

Life wasn't particularly kind to me this week but junk-land was and we all know that is my happy place.  There is just something relaxing about the hunt. The Jesus picture is 1940s and the tooled leather bag is an old camera bag.
I adore the photo of the bohemian woman on the beach.  The back side says, simply, Momma. I would love to know her story.
The red and white cookbook is a premium given to subscribers of Good Housekeeping magazine.
Remember the original troll dolls?  I think the first thing I ever sewed were little felt clothes for my troll doll.
This knee huger went in the cart on a impulse.  It was filthy so I gave him a shower in the kitchen sink.  He didn't fall apart so I think a makeover is in order with a little glitter and some Shiny Brites.
Some pretty trims and a floral box.  I wish I'd gotten a better photo of the jewelry box.  I have never seen one with a checkered design like that.
I gasped when I lifted some fairly modern Christmas cards out of this box and found it filled with old Dennison Christmas stickers.  Score!!  Favorite find of the week.
