I completed the remodel of the vintage train case I showed you in this post. It was really in pretty good condition and a good scrub worked wonders.
All I needed to do was line the inside of the lid with vintage wallpaper and then I edged that with some forest green braid trim. Wa-La!
I am really tempted to keep this one but travel is so much different today. I have a modern soft-sided version and usually squash it inside the larger suitcase for fewer pieces of luggage. Gone are the days when people traveled with matched sets of luggage or steamer trunks. Now that we have to pay extra to bring along our clothes, less is more!
I ordered a long-overdue new rug for my living room and will be taking up the old one, cleaning and rolling out the new one today. This rug is quite a departure for me. My decorating style is heavy on flowers so I hope I don't have to re-decorate the whole living room to make this new rug work. My house is very low-light so I seldom show pictures but will attempt to get a before and after. I sure hope the post doesn't end with "What am I going to do now?"!!

It is gorgeous!!! Wow! I think I would keep it as it is just such a magnificent piece! Happy making! Nicole xo
The train case is just darling. I think I'd use it as a craft tote.
I love your remodeling job. So pretty with the flowery wallpaper and fit for a long train trip in style. I'm sure your new rug is gorgeous and I'm looking forward to the reveal.
Wow the case cleaned up good - sometimes that is all that is needed - and I love the colour. Good luck with the rug!
You're strong to let that case go! I'd fill it with jewelry and display it open like you have it shown. It's adorable!
Good job!
Erica :)
I would keep the train case...it would be great for storage. And I can't wait to see your new rug. We started a small project yesterday that took 2 days. WHEW! What a mess we got into. Hugs!
I would keep it and use it for storage. I don't know how you can part with it. Anxious to see your new rug. I bet it works just fine!
I love this train case. I think you should definitely keep it and use it as a display piece in your home. Reading about you, you remind me so much of my friend, Mary Elizabeth...loves old things, loves flowers, loves, bling. Maybe you two are twins separated at birth:-) She lives in Maine and I've shown pictures of some of her recent projects on my blog. Come visit sometime! Really enjoy following your blog.

Love the colors of that train case. I keep craft supplies in mine.
Super cute, and in wonderful condition! I wouldn't be able to part with that one.
Especially love that it's old lady green!
The wall paper you chose is perfect! Like everyone else, I think you should keep it. I'm thinking of all the things in my sewing room that I would stash in there if it was mine. If you decide to list it, let me know :)
The train case is lovely. I agree with others that this would be a keeper for whatever reason or use. I look forward to photos of your home and the new rug. The one I purchased last year at a garage sale cleaned up very well. I had it professionally cleaned. At the moment, it is rolled up and out of the way. With the broken ankle and the knee stroller, all my small rugs are rolled up and put away. For now, The large rug for the living room will come back out as soon as I can walk around on 2 feet.
Blessings, Marrianna
Love the paper you used on the case. Good luck with the rug, oh do take pictures!

Your train case is lovely. Have you seen artists carry them to art retreats with them loaded up with laces and supplies? This would be a good one for that. 😊
Love your travel case, it looks so pretty! The Floral paper really makes it extra cute! Hope you show us a picture of your new rug!! Happy week! xo Holly
This turned out so pretty. I am surprised that it's not going into your art studio to hold more pretty supplies. Love the color.
