In the Garden

Junking and gardening are my two mental relaxations.  After I do either, I can't remember anything I thought about while I was doing them.  This week I have been coming home each night and "puttering" outdoors and I'm slowly making progress on getting the garden shaped up.
We haven't fed the birds in several years because we were taken over by a pair of Blue Jays and the bird feeders became a target for them to attack the little birds.  We haven't seen the Jays this year so The Husband brought the feeders back out last night and filled them with fresh seeds today.  I have high hopes!
As long as I was out I also took photos of the roses that are in full bloom now.
It is, after all, The Rose City!

Nothing like outdoor time to relax the brain after too much screen time!

The roses are just gorgeous and I can almost smell them! Wish those blue jays would learn to play nice. I have the same problem with them.

Hi Kathy, Your garden roses are gorgeous!! Hope you have better luck with the feeders this time. Blue Jays can be very mean.
I know how relaxing it is to work in the garden. We've been out every evening too till dark. Just enjoying working in the yard.
Wishing you a nice holiday weekend.

Your roses are just lovely! I have a sign in my garden that says "Nothing bugs me when I'm in my garden" and it is so true. Do you have a vine for your pretty arbor? Love the foxglove and your fire pit. Very cozy!

Pretty yard and flowers! My feeders get taken over by grackles. They're such noisy and messy birds. Speaking of blue jays, I thought I heard one near the house the other day. I'm hoping they don't plan on visiting my feeders!

I have definite rose envy - your garden is looking lovely.

Does Portland still do the rose parade in June?
