Cabin Fever

The snowcropolis continues and I have not set foot off the property since a little after noon on Thursday and it has reduced me to baking.  I think I have lost my mind.  I don't cook, just ask my husband.  Now don't get me wrong, I did go through my earth-mother phase when I did plenty of cooking, baking and canning when my children were small.  Then they grew up and I retired from that job.  Or maybe retreated.  At any rate, I don't cook but last night I made bacon and eggs and pancakes for dinner.  Today I dug around in the freezer and found a bag of vintage chocolate chips and part of a bag of walnuts so I hunted up my crusty old Toll House Cookie recipe and my equally crusty Skoville mixer to see if I could still do it.  And I made a tuna salad recipe with shredded cabbage.  And I told The Husband I would make some meatballs for dinner.
I can't take much more of this.

Did you save some cookies for me? I used to bake these all the time way, way back in the day. I retired from the head chef position years ago...it better not snow around here.

I would have thought you would have finished an entire altered book by now.

I am waiting for whatever crazy weather we are going to get, but maybe it will just be our drought.

One more thing we have in common - we don't like to cook. But, I love to bake. I just don't do it often because I like to eat it also.

Things are bad when one resorts to cooking. At our house, my husband also does the cooking. I'm not that stir crazy yet!!

LOL...vintage chocolate chips, lol!!! Cold snowy weather brings out the baker in me. Hubby's co-workers always get most of what I make, otherwise I would eat it all.

I had to laugh at your "vintage" chocolate chips. I bet your cookies tasted delicious and I bet your husband is enjoying being snowed in more than you.

How funny, I just asked a friend who was snowed in 6 days did she bake any cookies?
Funny how Portland got that ice and snow. I seen on the news all the wrecks in the tunnel I always drive through to get downtown from 185th

enjoy being home, it was 11 below zero here this morning suppose to warm uo to 20 degrees today
