A Cluck-Cluck Here and a Cluck-Cluck There...

I haven't posted about something I DON'T collect in quite a while then Magpie Ethel gave me a big *cluckle* with this post about the chickens she doesn't collect and inspired this post.  I never set out to collect chickens but this little flock has come to roost on top of the curio cabinets in my living room, just the same.
I bought the two large ones on the right on purpose.  It was many years ago when I had in mind to decorate my kitchen in a red, white and chicken theme.  I got as far as the pair of chickens and a picture for the wall and moved on.  The two salt and pepper shakers on the little "nest" in the center were a gift from a relative visiting from Germany and the rest were my mother's.  They don't eat much.
I'm hooking up today with Cindy's Show and Tell Friday over at My Romantic Home.  She knows how to throw a great blog party so be sure to check it out!

I think your non-collection is just too cute, especially the pair on the basket! My daughter keeps telling me I need chickens in my French country dining room and I keep telling her NO!

I love your collection... I recently admired a few vintage "chickens" at my local Goodwill and now think I should grabbed them... they may be fun to incorporate into kitchen decor at some point! :)

Your collection is adorable! I like roosters and chickens too! I have a few of the same ones!

I think the best collections evolve over time and without us knowing it's happening. You sure have a sweet collection and it's always a bonus to have family pieces.

What a great color palette -- red, white & chicken!
