This morning I stopped at one of the local Goodwill stores and there IT was. There was a sunbeam of light shining down and I think I heard harps playing. At least inside my head. The exact right measurements plus two sweet little drawers - bonus! Now get ready for the very best part. Really. Get ready. Apparently no one wanted it because it is really the top off a hutch and there is no bottom shelf so it was marked $4.99. That's FOUR DOLLARS and NINETY NINE CENTS. Change back from a five. SCORE!!!
This is how it looks after I cleaned it up and replaced the drawer pulls. They were missing and it was drilled with two holes for each pull. I filled the holes and drilled a new one in the middle of each drawer and then attached two vintage Bakelite pulls I had been saving for a special project. More Karma at work.
It fits just perfectly on top of the box like they were made for each other. Now I have to keep looking at it until "my eyes are filled up", as my Grandma would have said. I better look hard because once I clutter it up with all my junk treasures I'll never see it again!
I am linking up with Show and Tell Friday over at My Romantic Home today. Maybe tomorrow I will find the dresser!

What a great find. I love your redo
Something about the first of each year we want to nest and clean. I just love to do the same thing. Have a great time with your great project.

Love it!
Just the perfect fit--this was meant to be--I love how things happen like this!
$5!? Usually with furniture I can find the right size but with the wrong price or the other way around but never both at the same time! And it's cute too. Must have been your lucky day at Goodwill. :-)
What a great find! Perfect!!!
Much as I love that hutch project, the phrase "look til your eyes are filled up" is my favorite part of this post.
You need to come help me when I redo my sewing room. I can never seem to find what I need when I need it and at the right price too! It looks like it was made to go there. I'm glad you had a good week off with a daily trip to a thrift store!
Don't you just love that great find moment! Nothing better than cleaning and rearranging to get my artistic juices flowing.
