Accidentally Intentional

Is accidentally intentional an oxymoron??  I'm guessing so.  These little collections didn't start out to be intentional.  They mostly started as "also ran" poke sack fodder but I eventually found myself buying them on purpose.
I have seen much larger dice collections but mine have filled the jar and are about ready for a new one.  I am especially fond of the teeny-tiny ones.
Pot metal game pieces.  Yes, I have been known to pry open a box at the thrift to see if the game pieces are still inside.  Did you know they retire Monopoly pieces when they introduce new ones?  The latest retire is the iron and they replaced it with a cat.  I haven't seen one of those yet.  There are also GOLD plated ones in the deluxe sets.  No, I have not found any of those!
I am not in to the thimbles that are made for collecting but I adore the old ones that were given as advertising premiums and ANY of the colored plastic ones.
Oops collections!

I have a few of the Monopoly pieces! I love all of the little objects we've played with over the years. I love your dice, too!

I have scads of these things, too! And, I had to ask to look in the boxes at the front desk if the monopoly games were taped shut, if I didn't take it upon myself while at the toy shelf! That always griped me, but if they didn't tape them shut, the pieces would end up all over the place. I also collected the scrabble games (with the wooden tiles). What a treat to see your collections...intended or not!

Oh My!! I have the dice collection, the monopoly collection and the thimble collection. I have them in jars. I put all the Monopoly irons in one jar when they were retired. Very scary how we all gravitate the same things and yet there are still so many left to find! I envy your thimbles..I have only a few....

I love your little collections....I have some jars full of fun things like yours too. They don't take up too much room, and look cool on a shelf....

Love your game piece collection - I went and pulled my "iron" from my Monopoly set (I actually have one from the UK which is really neat). Can't believe they replaced it with a cat LOL....

Hmmm... thought I had commented back to here (just catching up).

Anyway, love all the thimbles and vintage game pieces. I too (as you know) have a collection of these. When my Mom moved to a senior home, I got her sewing stuff and was amazed at all the thimbles she had gathered (not for collecting) over the years!

Great collections you have amassed Kathy!
