Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Programming - Sort Of

Amazing how time flies by during the holidays.  It seems like it was just the first of December and here it is, almost the middle of January!  I got my antique mall space switched out of Christmas mode and the leftovers packed away until next year but I continue to find Christmas to squirrel away.
The time to buy it is when you see it, as they say!
Although finding photos like this that have been discarded always makes my heart a little heavy.
I have been finding some fun ephemera lately.  Junking tip for the day...  I rarely buy old Bibles but it is a good idea to check between the pages.  Nothing in this photo was found in a Bible but I have been finding some interesting ephemera in them.
These cards were all found in an old scrapbook.
No, this Thanksgiving turkey is not attached to the Winston Churchill snowman.
Ho, Ho, Ho, bring the Spring flowers now, please!

From Funky Junk and I thought I would comment about old pictures since they make me feel the exact same way. I wish I had more photos of my ancestors, so it makes me sad that there isn't someone who would like to have these memories. Also, seeing someone so young and full of promise and wondering what happened to them, especially to the sailor...did he survive the War and come home?
I too have found interesting paper in books, sometimes the slip for when the book was purchased. Notes are fun, too.

I am always surprised at what calls to me when you show off your finds. This time, oddly, it's the group of green books. I recently brought down 6 red books (all by Bret Harte) from the attic and am moving them around in vignettes. I was just thinking yesterday that I need to find some sets in another color.

The baby picture in the last photo actually looks like one of my mother.

Lots of fun little treasures! I'm definitely ready for spring (and yard sale season) to come! We had our first snow of the season Saturday night into Sunday. Roads were still icky this morning too. Blah!

Oh yes, buy the Christmas goodies when you see them. I see all kinds of fun treasures here, but my favorites are the old photos.

I may be out in time for your antique show at the Expo center this March?
