My Happy Place

Life wasn't particularly kind to me this week but junk-land was and we all know that is my happy place.  There is just something relaxing about the hunt. The Jesus picture is 1940s and the tooled leather bag is an old camera bag.
I adore the photo of the bohemian woman on the beach.  The back side says, simply, Momma. I would love to know her story.
The red and white cookbook is a premium given to subscribers of Good Housekeeping magazine.
Remember the original troll dolls?  I think the first thing I ever sewed were little felt clothes for my troll doll.
This knee huger went in the cart on a impulse.  It was filthy so I gave him a shower in the kitchen sink.  He didn't fall apart so I think a makeover is in order with a little glitter and some Shiny Brites.
Some pretty trims and a floral box.  I wish I'd gotten a better photo of the jewelry box.  I have never seen one with a checkered design like that.
I gasped when I lifted some fairly modern Christmas cards out of this box and found it filled with old Dennison Christmas stickers.  Score!!  Favorite find of the week.

Those Dennison would be my favorite find as well.

The woman on the beach is by far my favorite and I'm a fan of troll dolls.

Hope your weekend is nice.

Thank goodness for the "Happy Place"! Where WOULD we be without them? I always love looking at your haul! I guess I collect vicariously through you! I also get to use YOUR space for that! I hope the coming days are kinder!

Love your haul. It's been said above but I'll repeat: I love looking at your treasures. Good for you. Besides the stickers, I think everything looks fantastic. And whatever you put in your space at the antique store will definitely sell quickly. Congratulations on another fantastic hunt.

I'd say you had a pretty good junkin' week too. I'd have to choose the little suitcase and the black metal box. That troll is so precious! I made felt clothes for mine too, but I was lazy and glued them together. Thanks for the memories.

Lots of great finds this week! I love that blue box, that tiny boat propeller (don't know why) and of course the Dennison stickers. I suppose we all love those because we have such fond memories of earning them on our school papers, weekly piano assignments, and such. Or is it just because they're so CUTE???

Oh, drooling over the stickers!

I always love trying to pick one favorite from your pieces.

This time I think I have to go with the tooled bag. It could be used in fun vignettes!

I like the old little cardboard suitcase

glad you still have the fire in your belly to hunt and dig for these treasures LOL

With regard to the black glass plate you showed on your July 31 post, have you tried holding it up to the light? If it shows purple, it is called black amethyst.

I use to make felt clothes for my troll dolls too! Wish I still had mine. Sorry your real world was crappy this week. I remember when I was still working, I got through the days thinking about my antiques booth and my blog, and my online store. It was like my secret happy world!
