I decided to try those flat lay photos that are all the rage lately. I'm not too thrilled with my results but had to give it a try with a few recent finds.
Maybe my one and only attempt since I'm not too motivated by photography. Anyone who is doing it have any advice?? Tell me there is an easy way.... 8+)

I've learned something - I didn't know this was a trend. When I started my Etsy shop all of my photos looked like this because it was fast and easy. Many still do, for the same reason! I can see with yours, though, that there's an art to making them look good. Can't wait to see what others say, but I say, "Great job!" Love that Orange Blossom can.
Hi Kathy, great flat layout. I do this for my etsy shop now and then. Adding a frame with editing pulls them together for me. Just a thought. Love your new finds. Happy Thursday! cm
I think you did a great job and you have given me more inspiration for how to photograph items for my blog and for my Etsy shop. No, I haven't listed anything yet and, no, I haven't done a blog post recently. But you get the idea. The only suggestion I have would be to maybe have a sheet under the items instead of the wood floor. Or a funky flat piece of wood so it looks like you got something really special for your photo shoot. I saw a recent "flat" layout where the artist had a metal tray with her paint brushes and pens laid out and I thought it told the story very well. I think it was on one of the Instagram accounts I follow.
Hope it helps.

I love the photos of tiny items all perfectly spaced. They look great on a white background! Maybe get a white posterboard and use the matte side, so you won't get flash flare in your photo. :)
I like your "flat lay" approach--but my camera skills are so limited, I have no advice as to how to do it better. Your recent finds are fun to check out--I am in love with that little xylophone!!
I have a whole book on little trinkets layed out like this. I love it, but I know I'm really just drooling over the trinkets. Just admiring what you have here.
It's hard to get good photos with the bright sun here but I lay things down on my sofa sometimes. Not sure what the best way is. I'm wondering what those colorful things are above the doilies. Look like clickers or pocket knives...cute! Hugs!
I am so with you...Photography does not motivate me either, I think if it did I would be much better at it. I had no idea that flat lay photos were the rage! Love your treasures

I didn't know there was a name for it and I have no advice.
You will laugh at my favorite this post. It is the holly cookie cutter and only because it reminds me of one my mother had.
