My apologies for being so absent this week, especially to all of you new followers. I promise, I do usually post more often! The big-girl job sucked the life out of me this week and then I inhaled a cold virus.
I HAVE been dinking around a little with all that lace and crochet and have exactly ONE page started in my lace book. My plan is to include at least one pocket on each page for a vintage postcard.
Proof my intentions are true - my work table is a mess!
I hunted around in my stash for something to use as background and found this upholstery fabric that was left over from one of the chairs in my living room. It isn't very feminine, in fact, it isn't one bit feminine, but I like the colors and thought they would be a good background for the white and ecru. It is very heavy-weight so I think it will hold up well to the embellishing and not be too "floppy". I edged each one with some satin blanket binding I had on hand and plan to bind them together after the pages are finished.
I hope you are all finding a little time to be creative no matter how busy life can get!

Hi Kathy, Sorry you have a cold, hope you are better soon. Love the start of your lace book. I love the upholstery fabric you are using. The color will really make the lace pop and give stability too.
Thank you for stopping by and your birthday wishes.
Have a great rest of the weekend and feel better!
Hugs
I'm glad you're back and hope the cold isn't too bad! I'm excited that you're starting the lace book and I love the pocket idea. Looking forward to seeing the progress!
All that lace is inviting. Hope you're better Sunday!
If the first page is any indication, your book is going to be beautiful! Love the idea of the pockets and postcards. What a great idea to use blanket binding! I always seem to get some in lots that I buy but couldn't ever think of a use for it.
I laughed at your term "dinking around". I am so sorry that your big girl job is taking too much of your time.
I misread your post title when I first looked at it. So you haven't been drinking around? Love all your beautiful fabrics and lace. Hope your back to 100% soon!!
Your lace is so pretty! I love the idea of a 'lace book' and the pockets to hold the vintage postcards! Hope you're feeling better soon :)

I'm "creatively" hacking at trees and bagging pollen and dead crunchy leaves. Does that count?..sigh
Sorry you cod a code! Hope you are better today. Love the pocket idea. I will enjoy seeing how you put all that lovely lace together. The start is very good.
Oh it's a wonderful beginning Kathy! I can't wait to see the rest. I want to start a new book or two, too. I hope you're feeling better...I've been under the weather, too, but am better now.
Hope you feel better! I love your pocket ideas and such pretty lace, trims, and vintage postcards you have to work with!! :) Happy Sunday! xo Holly
Well, you are one page ahead of me! What a great way to use all of those great lace pieces!
