It was a busy weekend 'round here but I got in a quick trip to the VOA plus a visit to the Monticello Antique Mall. I have been wanting to get over there since Laurie posted about sharing space with Amy for the holidays. I spotted the pretty cardinal above in one of her photos and was delighted to find it was still there waiting for me. I don't know which one of you gals was selling it but, oh happy me!
The rest of my finds were from the VOA. And just what is that peeking out of the bowl??
Well Howdy folks! The VOA has some bins of bitty toys they sell for 6/$1 and this little hand-puppet was peeking up at me just so. I don't think he is Howdy since he has glasses and no freckles but I'm thinking he might be Dandy Doody or Grandpa Doody. No matter, he is vintage and who could resist those googly eyes!

When we were looking for a name for Lulu who is a GoldenDoodle, Steve actually threw out the name Howdie Doodle. We all groaned.
How great that you can actually visit a fellow blogger's shop! Love the cardinal - my Dad's favorite bird. So pretty!
Love the cardinal and the bowl...'cause I love red!! Cute puppet whatever the name!
How funny! I love that beautiful cardinal, too! Sweet hugs!
The cardinal is a sweet addition to your collection and I love the bowl! It's amazing the things you find during your quick trips!
The puppet is cute and I see another satin glove box for the collection. I love the striped bowl too.

No clue about the puppet, but the cardinal is pretty and I love that bowl. Another box for your collection, too! Is that a vase in front? It looks like it's metal.
He really is the sweetest little guy, it's no wonder he came home with you. You know I'm loving that little vase.
I had my daughter find Monticello once while I was in Portland and that was fun.
I use to always go to STARS in Sellwood is that still going on ?

Thanks so much for stopping by The Space Where Vintage Christmas Is Exploding at Monticello ;-)
And thank you for carrying home the little red birdie too. I know he'll be very happy in his new home.
