Glass buttons are my favorites but they don't get glamorous jewelry box storage. It's not that I don't respect the buttons. They are just so pretty that I like to keep them out where I can see them. The opaque glass buttons are stored in the center compartment of a vintage pink satin dresser box.
I scooped them all out into a tray so you could get a closer look. You can click the pictures bigger.
I put all the glass buttons that are not transparent into this category, except the ones with rhinestones that I showed you in this post. The clear ones will be for another post.
Many are iridescent or decorated with gold or silver. Sometimes they even resemble a metal button.
Notice the gold one in the top right corner of this picture. It looks like a military button but it is actually glass with gold paint.
Black is the most common so I always get excited when I find colors, especially unusual colors like pink or brown.
I love the way these look when they are all jumbled up together just like jewels in a treasure chest. Every time I poke through the pile it's just like discovering them all over again.
I am linking up with ShowAnd Tell Friday at My Romantic Home to share the button love again this week. Thank you, Cindy, for hosting!

It's such torture to have to look at these on the screen and not in person, lol!!! There are some gorgeous ones. I love the ones that look lacy!
Thought of you at the flea,,,,,,there was a big box of buttons! But it is obvious you don't need more : ). Oh no - that sounds like a comment my hubby would make to me!
Ahh--just love all of this button candy...
Beautiful, beautiful glass buttons! I love how you mixed them all together; I have mine separated by colors. Hey, I'm curious about the pink and blue boxes you have at the front of the first photo -- the ones with the roses on them. They look alot like a red one I have for sale right now in my shop; I was wondering if they were the same and if you knew anything about them? Here's a link to the one I have in my store: http://www.etsy.com/listing/85505505/vintage-rose-shallow-box-plastic
Oh my Kathy! What a gorgeous blog you have and the buttons! My goodness, the buttons! I just found you through Pat Winter's blog and I'm so glad I did! I'm going to add your blog to my sidebar and I will be back to see and read more when I have a bit more free time.
Pam
Part of me wants to sort them (I am about 3% OCD) but the other 97% of me understands poking through the pile and rediscovering them all over again!
