So What Became of Those Little Vintage Deer...

...you might wonder... Well, maybe not, but I'll tell you anyway! I told you about my new-found fascination with vintage Christmas and a few recent finds in this post. I leaned in to that pink theme I had in mind and this is what I came up with. For some reason it doesn't show up as sparkly in the photo as it does in real life but let me just say there is a LOT of glitter!
I have been obsessed with glitter since the Granddaughter was here and I'll just say I have made a MUCH bigger mess with it than she ever did. If anyone has any advice on how you actually clean it all up, bring it on! It seems to be like Easter grass and once you have it in your house you never really get it back out.
I added glitter to the antlers and the spots on the sweet little deer. I bought the adorable pink bottle brush trees from bleueclectic on Etsy. The picks are from Michaels. I added a little lot more glitter to both. I needed some sort of platform so I used a dinner plate as my pattern and cut three pieces of foam core and glued them together. Then I cut strips of vintage sheet music and glued around the edges plus round pieces for the top. Once they were all glued on and dry I painted them with white Golden Acrylic thinned with matte medium so it would be semi-transparent. Once that dried I brushed on another coat of matte medium and the glitter storm began. Sprinkle, shake, sprinkle, shake... I hot glued all the pieces in place and Waa Laa!
I have been so busy around here that I haven't hooked up with any blog parties in a while so I am joining this one up with Show and Tell Friday over at My Romantic Home. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone is doing to get ready for Christmas!

Your Christmas deer are charming and look very content in their pink forest.

I for one am still picking glitter out of everything - it spreads around the house somehow. I find it in rooms where I wasn't using it...

Oh, it turned out fantastic!!! I don't work with glitter, but it ends up all over the house this time of year just from the Christmas ornaments and decorations! I wouldn't have it any other way though!

This is very charming! I just bought the same trees from the same vendor on Esty and can't wait to get them! I also bought a little pink house.

I have looked over your blog and I just love all your vintage. I love vintage Christmas too. Thankyou for visiting my blog. When I click to become your follower, it didn't put my picture there. I am not sure why, that has not happened to me before. And yep, I have been glittering up everything. Take care and come back and say hi sometime.
