Happy Mail!

I recently received this amazing happy mail from Betsy at My Salvaged Treasures.  She knows me well and I am over the moon at her generosity!  Be sure to click this picture bigger.  The key chain of red and blue buttons is already dangling from my purse.  The sweet card is adorned with ladybug buttons.
These earrings are one of her original creations.  Vintage sewing snaps and shoe buttons.  How perfect for me!  I have already worn then.  They are light and comfortable and destined to be a "go to" in my jewelry box.
She included several new to me needle cards for my collection.  How clever that she re-purposed the yarn card for holding this vintage lace.
I immediately swapped out the bookmark I was currently using for this one.  It is another one of her original creations and topped with three stacked buttons.
This broach is also created from stacked buttons.  Betsy's creativity is astounding.  If you aren't familiar with her blog, please click on the link above to follow along with her projects.
Thank you, Betsy.  I treasure each and every thing and, most especially, our blogland friendship!

Happy Mail

I received a sweet surprise in my mailbox this week.  This is from Wendy who joined in on the Pay It Forward swap.  A handmade card and a delightful altered Altoids tin. Burlap is all the rage but I haven't worked with it myself so that makes this tin even more fun.
She filled it with, what else, BUTTONS!  You know I was tickled and love the lace inside the lid, too.
The bottom of the tin is decorated just as beautifully as the top.  Thank you, Wendy, for such a treasure!

Chinese New Year Happy Mail

Cathy at ma vie trouvee is enjoying all the Chinese New Year festivities in Singapore and included me in the celebration with this surprise package in the mail.  This is the year of the Goat and I learned that I am a goat because I was born in 1955.  There I said it.  I am old enough to know better and I am a goat.  It is also called the year of the Ram, which is sort of a goat that is old enough to know better.  8+)
Most of the papers are envelopes which are used for New Year's gifts.  She also included this neat charm in the shape of a ram.
This is just the sweetest face!  Visit her blog (link above) to learn more about the Chinese New Year.  Cathy has a unique way of embracing every culture she encounters and shares so much fascinating information on her blog.
Thank you, Cathy, for thinking of me.  Wishing you and D a very Happy New Year!

Suprise Package

Just a few days before Christmas this lovely surprise package arrived in the mail from Annette at So Many Memories.  Happy mail!! Just look at all those pretty papers.
Best of all, she included this beautiful tea towel that she made herself.  Buttons and birdies, how perfect for me!  We are so hard on kitchen towels at our house that this one will have a special place of honor where we won't mess it up.
These sparkly ladies are also postcards so I am seeing some fun mail art in my future.  Thank you, Annette, for being such a dear blog friend!
