Junkalanche Update

Way back in February I blogged about my new strategy for organizing the junk-in-waiting and hauled everything down from the attic.  It languished and multiplied in the guest bedroom while I searched for an appropriate storage cabinet.
Nobody sleeping here, that's for sure!
I finally found this bad boy at the antique mall and husband and I wrestled it home and in to the house.  This guy is 50" wide and about 40" tall so no small feat to get it out of the truck and up the four separate steps in to the house.  We are getting too old for this stuff!
The view now.  Sorry about the poor picture.  It is a rainy morning here.  It took some time to sort things that would be okay in tubs on the patio and things I wanted stored inside.  Lots of time.
But happy to say I finally got it organized and the room functional again.
Now I just have to train myself to not fall victim to "out of sight, out of mind" and pile that bed back up!

It's so hard to NOT junk! I get claustrophobia every time I enter my office/craft/junk room, and yet when a good sale rolls around I'm itching to go find treasure. The only thing that saves me is the fact that thrift stores here never have anything good. If I lived in your area, every square inch of my house might be full!

I knew a couple years ago that my thrifting, repurposing, junking days were over. I can no longer do it and feel claustrophobic now with too much stuff. I ran out of steam lol

So...Now what will you do with it now that it has been stuffed in the cabinet and bins? Are they for projects? To list in an Etsy shop? To give away as gifts? To keep them all for yourself? Do tell! Best wishes, Fonda

That room could be Kate's room in my house. FULL of stuff right now and Im sorting for a garage sale...can't wait to clear some room. It certainly does take over if you aren't careful! That cabinet is perfect to hide stuff...

It sure piles up quicker than it takes to sort through it all. That looks like a great cabinet for storage. I'm looking for something like that for my sewing room because there's just not enough room for all the stuff!

Well at least you have a plan to get all your treasures organized. I'm finally tired of buying stuff to sell and my house is full also. My storage room has been exempted out twice 12 x 12 feet and it's still full haha

I had a yard sale last weekend with a friend and got rid of some more things
2 wood ladders and a huge white chicken sold first thing haha

keep it up girl seems to be working for you in the great city of Portland
