I haven't had a lot of time for junking lately but my world has not been totally without junk because that would just be WRONG! The Husband even went along to this sale because they advertised wood turning blanks. Sadly, it was picked over by the time we got there on Saturday so he didn't score anything but I managed to get a few second-day leftovers.
I am always happy to find lace trim for my inspiration kits and who could resist a vintage postcard with a birdie.
This was my favorite find, a huge stack of Green Stamps. These bring back such happy childhood memories for me and I still have a few things my mother bought with them.
Does anyone know what these are? They were in the poke sacks of sewing notions. They are rigid and about 4" long. Collar stays, maybe? If you know, please educate me!

Love all that lace trim, too!! And, the Saver booklets! Wish I knew what those were? Happy weekend! xo Heather
S & H green stamps!!! I love them! I have no idea what I will do with the ones I have, but just knowing I have them gives me a smile! I also have other stamps, like Buckeye that came from Big Bear in Columbus, Ohio and some yellow ones, maybe called Top Value. So fun to see someone elses!
Hi Kathy, you did have a good day junkin! I just have to smile seeing those green stamps. When we first were married many years ago, we saved them from a store in Texas and used them to buy Christmas presents one year!! We thought we really hit the jackpot. And, I think we did back then. Young and poor and saved green stamps!! LOL
Love the haul of lace trims. Now why can't I find those??
Not sure what those last treasures are. Hope someone informs.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs
that is a very sweet birdie card! I so remember the green stamps. Of course I was the one who got to lick them and put them in the books as if it were a special job. Fun things for your inspiration kits. As far as the last little things, sorry, not a clue oops...I'm Kluless!! :>)
I still have a few books of green stamps and just saw some at a sale today. My first bike was bought with green stamps. I redeemed them into highschool I just googled it and you can still redeem them..takes a whole lot of points tho....
Oh yes, the memories of green stamps. You sure found some sweet little treasures. I sure wish I could identify those very interesting thingies.
The green stamps sure brings back some memories! I haven't seen or thought about them in years. Too bad your husband didn't find anything.
Your mystery notions are vintage corset stays. You can see a set for sale of Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/99290982/new-corset-boning-stays-unopened?ref=market
Ooooh, look at that pretty lace, Kathy! Nice find! Last year I hit a quite a few estate and yard sales to find things for my booth. I found lots of great bits and pieces like lace, doilies and some other great notions that came home with me for my craft/sewing room.
Green stamps! My son is 38 and my mother gave me enough green stamps to buy him a stroller when he was born.
I actually recognize those things, but I can't recall what they were for.
Hi Kathy, now I'm following you also. Wow, it is always so great to hear about a good day junkin! Especially when you get a lot of little things that are special to you. I remember the green stamps. I loved when my mom came home from the store and let me paste the stamps in her books. I know she traded them in for things, but can't remember what things. Probably something I have in my collections now..Happy Sunday..Judy
I love it! "A world without junk would just be wrong!"...I couldn't agree more :)

I of course love everything you find. I remember S&H stamps, I used to got to the refund center with my grandmother!
