Me and my new glasses found time for two estate sales last weekend. The first house was tiny and there was still a line outside when I got there at 1:00pm on Saturday. Shortly after I got there they threw caution to the wind and let everyone in. What a zoo! I had to hold my box on my head and wiggle through the house.
I needed to stop at the grocery store to buy my contribution to the St. Patrick's Day potluck at work on Monday. On my way home I stopped at a private estate sale BECAUSE I COULD SEE THE SIGN!!
The prices at these two sales was on the opposite ends of the spectrum. The first one was priced so they could mark down on Sunday and still make money. At the second one they just clearly wanted stuff gone.
I didn't score a lot but was happy with my finds. This sweet little blue heart pillow will be heading over to Etsy when I get around to it. It could be used as a pincushion or maybe an inspiration board to pin pretties on.
I picked up a vintage pink chenille rug, another aluminum tray for my collection, a box of buttons {the keepers will be another post}, a vintage spice jar and a clothespin bag. The bag is pretty worn but I have never seen a frame like this and I'm sure someone {maybe me??} will take a pattern and replace the bag.
This wall plaque goes with a similar one in my kitchen so it is already cleaned up and hung in there.
I bought an instant collection of button hooks. They were priced very strangely as the ones with plain metal handles were more expensive than these. I don't know much about buttons hooks so maybe that makes sense. I just knew I wanted them! 8+)
This set of a button hook and a fingernail cleaner are headed to Etsy. The antler handles are unique and I expect it was a man's dresser set of some sort and may have had additional pieces at one time. Underneath is a big stack of plastic doilies that cleaned up very well.
It was a good to get a junk fix!

Cool stuff, good for you! I can't wait to get back out there on the thrift scene.....been too busy to take part lately!
So glad you got out and "saw" what was there!! good finds...I really like those button hooks!!
I wondered what the button hooks were with all the pretty handles.
You found some fun pieces.
Hi Kathy, wow you and your glasses found a great collection of goodies this week. Love those button hooks.
The crocheted heart pin cushion is a favorite too. My grandma used to make those many years ago and I have a few and love the way they twisted the ribbon. So sweet.
Great finds too for the plastic doilies. They work so well decorating outside.
Happy Wednesday!
Hugs
I have a heart similar to this one. I'll watch your Etsy store! Love your fun finds! Sweet hugs!
I just got home from Portland last night ,it was a quick trip and I didn't get to do any shopping or estate sales.
I put some button hooks in my etsy shop and no one has hit on them?
the crochet heart cushion is always sweet to have
I'd say you had a great junkin' fix. Wow, love the box of buttons and those hook thingies are so interesting. Love that pink garbage can in the back too.
Is that a pink trash can? Whatever it is,I'm drawn to it! Actually, it's all pretty cool. I bet you're glad you saw that sign!
