And Another Thing I Don't Collect

It has been quite a while since I did a post about something I don't collect.  Tins definitely fit that category.  I never head out picking thinking, gosh maybe I will find a tin today.  You don't have to find tins.  They are everywhere.
Sometimes they contain buttons or other sewing notions and many of those get emptied out and go straight back into the donate pile.  Sometimes they don't contain anything at all but seem too pretty to leave behind {pick me, pick me}.
Sometimes I already have one just like it so I think I need to bring home it's mate.  I have never bought a pair of shoes because I had just a pair just like it at home.  Well, okay, I have, but they were a different color so that doesn't count.
There is no rhyme or reason as far as age, maker or original purpose.  As I gathered them up, though, I noticed they are almost all floral. That should come as no surprise!  Looking them over, I realize I am pretty tolerant about condition.
A few are used for storage in the art room.  Most just sit on a shelf in the guest bedroom and wait for me to think of something to do with them.  An accidental collection.

Like you, I'd have never set out to collect these. But seeing them all together, they sure look nice!

LOL - I too have quite the tin collection that I dont collect - my only qualifier is that some where on it, it has to say Made in England - other than that all bets are off. You have some really nice looking ones!

This non-collection is absolutely beautiful all together! You're right about them being everywhere. I've picked up a few over the years, but I've given most of them away. They make great gifts filled with homemade cookies or candy.

Kathy you have an amazing collection. I too have a hard time resisting them when they are old floral ones especially. I had to laugh when I came across your post tonight because just today at the thrift I almost.....almost put two in my cart but I resisted. I will eventually burst at the seams with all my "junk" LOL.

Danielle

Accidental collections are the best kind. I love all your pretty tins and can certainly see how they've made their way into your life.

You may not collect these but they really look perfect as a group. And it's a pretty big group/not a collection. ;-)
