Recent Finds

I have a little quote taped above my desk that says "Gently remind yourself that life is okay the way it is, right now".  I am embracing that when it comes to junking.  Yes, I know I pick faster than I can list, but why not??  I list as fast as I can and I am a master at jinga in my art room so why not?
No worries about this one.  A new (to me!) nativity for my collection.  Baby Jesus and palm trees??
I have a soft spot for old tole trays and this one is beautiful.
Another rose saucer added to the stack.  Someday I will have that elusive booth and someone will find this for their tea party and it will make their day.  How can that not make me feel happy?
This already make some one's day and maybe it will again one of these days.
I plucked this little basket out of a bin because I always feel compelled to look inside containers.  I don't know what I think I'm going to find bu I always have to look.  Pandora syndrome, I guess...
 What a delightful surprise!!
The most teeny, tiny little baskets EVER!  I am glad I looked and they are rescued from the landfill.
So it is clear by now that I have been going through some angst about my love of junking lately but I think I am working my way through it and making peace.  I love junking, it gives me joy, so why not?  Do any of you struggle with this??

You know I struggle with the same love of junking syndrome, and I'm not interested in the cure!

I'm glad you looked in the small basket. What a treat to behold! Tiny, delicate woven baskets and hats! WOW!

We go junkin' every once in awhile, but we don't collect much. We are in the process of getting rid of, so if/when we move, we won't have to move so much. I have been holding onto decorative items that I can't put up here, because putting nails in the walls is forbidden by the landlady. Our stuff doesn't match either, and this was supposed to be a short stay. We keep our fingers crossed that my wife will get a full-time teaching position, and we will move and buy a house! Still keeping our fingers crossed after about 6 years. I am hoping that paring down will bring in the positive energy that this process needs.

Great finds Karhy, I have seen many vintage nativity sets with palm trees. Bethlehem had palms. Love the tiny baskets. Such a special find. I hope I am never cured from the love of junkin. You go girl!!
Have a nice weekend.

I love junkin' too. You made some great scores, especially the tiny baskets, not to forget The Dutch Twins.

Why not, indeed! I stopped going to fabric and quilt shops so I wouldn't buy more fabric unless it was for something specific. I realized after a few months that I was missing something I truly enjoyed and that made me happy. Now I go and buy what I want to even if it's only a fat quarter!

Oh those tiny baskets are adorable! Great discovery!

I have stopped going to the Goodwill - especially near work - I always would bring something home!
