We can't seem to get more than crumbs of the warm, sunny weather much of our country is having. Just a little snip here and there for Juneuary in Portland. When it cleared off for a few minutes on Saturday I ran right out to photograph the very first Dahlia bloom of the season. They call this type a "novelty" dahlia. No explanation needed for that!
Naturally, I had to fool around with those scene features on the big-girl camera. This is set to yellow only. I love the way it turned the red parts almost silver.
This is set to red only. I probably didn't need to say that - har har!
And this setting turned it into a Zentangle! I like the way the bud on the left side looks kind of like a little fairie hovering by in a balloon.
Let's have a swap! I will send you a box of rain and you can send me a box of sunshine.

Such pretty blooms. Sounds like a deal. We're going to be heating up every day this week; I'll send some of it your way and take a little of your rain.
Some rain seems real nice right about now. If I could I would bottle up some sun and send it out your way.

Danielle
Beautiful Dahlia, and fun photos with changing the colors! I like the one with the pop of red in the middle! Hoping for some sun your way! xo Heather
It's so cool that your camera will do that! Having such a gorgeous flower to photograph is cool too! I'm loving our sunshine and I would gladly share with you if I could. I'll be wishing by the end of the week that I could send you some of our temperatures too.
Oh you just be quiet...I will gladly swap my dreadful next 7 days of hell for your glorious temps.....107'F for the boys to set off for 10 days of scout camp tomorrow. Claire has 7 season ending softball games this weekend at a cool 101'F....I die! Love this setting on your camera. All my plants are crispy again this year. Smiles...Renee
can't believe you have a dahlia in bloom already...mine are not to that point yet. Loving the weather today and so glad I don't live in Kansas with Renee! I would MELT.
I'll gladly give you as much sun as you want :D
